SAIC Design Students Draft Sturdy Plans for Future Achievement
On November 1 Interior Design magazine highlighted nine promising young designers set to graduate this spring from top design schools around the United States. The publication profiled two SAIC students, Adele Cuartelon (MArch 2013) and Eli Sidman (MDes 2013), in “Student Outlook,” the first in a three part series addressing the students’ post-graduation career prospects. While pursuing a degree in architecture at SAIC, Cuartelon states she developed an interest in furniture design—a passion she hopes to explore further in the future. Sidman, whose undergraduate background incorporated both physics and visual arts, says his future goal is to “explore ways to combine science and art that could impact people’s lives.” Sidman’s work will be exhibited in SAIC's whatnot exhibition when it returns to Milan this spring.
