SAIC Artists Make Huffington Post’s “Top 10 Museum Shows of 2014”

On February 17, Huffington Post critic, Simon Watson, named Nick Cave’s (Fashion) solo exhibition at the Institute of Contemporary Art Boston, as well as the 2014 Whitney Biennial, as two of the “Top 10 Museum Shows of 2014.” Co-curated by faculty member Michelle Grabner (Painting and Drawing) and featuring nearly 20 artists from the SAIC community, the upcoming biennial “offers one of the broadest and most diverse takes on art in the United States that the Whitney has offered in many years,” says the museum’s Chief Curator Donna DeSalvo. The 2014 Whitney Biennial runs from March 4 through May 25. Nick Cave, on view through May 4 at the ICA Boston, presents Cave’s new work alongside a selection of his famous Soundsuits. “Part sculpture, part costume, the complex, kaleidoscopically colorful works of art can be displayed as objects, and also often feature in solo and group movement performances,” says Watson.
