SAIC Alumna Nominated to State Commission

On November 1, ENews Forest Park announced Governor Pat Quinn’s appointment of SAIC alumna Amber Smock (MFAW 2004) to Illinois’s Deaf and Hard of Hearing Commission. Smock currently works as a Director of Advocacy at Access Living and has received numerous awards for her advocacy work on behalf of those with disabilities. She is also a co-coordinator for Chicago ADAPT and co-founder of Feminist Response in Disability Activism (FRIDA), an action group of women with disabilities.
