More than 100 SAIC Artists Exhibited at Miami Art Fairs

More than 100 SAIC community members exhibited this year at Art Basel Miami Beach and surrounding fairs from December 5–8. A comprehensive roster of participating SAIC faulty and alumni is published online at my.saic.edu. On December 2 the Huffington Post ranked number one Saya Woolfalk’s (MFA 2004) No Place, on view at SCOPE December 3–8, on its list of “The 20 Events You Simply Can’t Miss” at this year’s fair.  “Enter Woolfalk's color-drenched worlds and you're greeted with a mixture of a child's playroom, an eccentric consumer's den and an archaeological treasure trove,” the article states. On December 3 Vogue featured faculty member Michelle Grabner (Painting and Drawing)among its "15 Highlights You Can’t Miss at Art Basel." "The multitalented Renaissance woman Michelle Grabner is really in the news right now," says writer Ted Loos. "She’s one of the three curators of the Whitney Biennial coming in March, and is an accomplished artist and critic as well, with a solo exhibition up right now at MOCA Cleveland. Her 2013 untitled work at the James Cohan Gallery booth gives a taste of her thoughtful brand of minimalism."
