LeRoy Neiman’s Last Painting Featured in Crain’s Chicago Business

Crain’s Chicago Business published an article online September 5 about the last work of the late LeRoy Neiman, who created the official painting for the upcoming Ryder Cup golf tournament in suburban Medinah, Illinois. Veteran sports reporter Ed Sherman reveals the story behind the work by interviewing Don Larson, the Ryder Cup chairman who asked Neiman to create the painting, as well as Neiman’s longtime business partner Ben Isaacs. Sherman writes, “Given the artist's ties to Chicago, Mr. Isaacs believes it is fitting that Mr. Neiman will be part of this Ryder Cup. He studied and taught at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, eventually donating, with his wife, more than $9 million to SAIC and Ox-Bow, an affiliated school in Michigan.”
