Faculty Member Expands Artisan Brand

On April 9 the Crain’s Chicago Business column New In Chicago highlighted the just-launched collection of ritual art and home décor, Judaica, created by SAIC faculty member and architect Amy Reichert (Arts Administration and Policy). Reichert launched the brand over 20 years ago with the help of local artisans and silversmiths, producing limited edition and one-of-a-kind objects using silver, brass, mahogany, and limestone. “My goal is to create timeless pieces that fully reflect the story of each holiday and celebration and will be passed down from generation to generation,” she says. “I bring a fresh approach to Jewish ritual art and home decor steeped in tradition, yet modern in design.”
