The Chicago Fine Chocolate Show presented decadent photographs by SAIC alumna Alexis Buryk (MFA 2012) November 16–18 at Navy Pier. Buryk exhibited a series of images depicting the delicious desert in different forms at the “unique fine chocolate and culinary event” showcasing artisanal chocolate from around the world. “Delight translates this desire for never-ending chocolate into a photographic series of indulgence in various stages of happening, and seeks to evoke infinitely the inherent pleasure of savoring chocolate,” she says of the series. Buryk’s work is finding many homes in Chicago. Since September a roof-top exhibition at the Palmer House Hilton features a photo installation by the artist that brilliantly details the chandelier in the hotel’s Empire Room.
