Design Blog Praises Solo Exhibition by SAIC Alumnus Jacob Hasimoto
On October 11, Co.Design—a popular design blog from Fast Company—reviewed SAIC alumnus Jacob Hashimoto’s (BFA 1996) third solo exhibition at Rhona Hoffman Gallery. Kyle Vanhemert highlights Hashimoto’s Gas Light, a massive installation crafted from hundreds of small kites, calling the work “a hanging skyscraper where a variety of colors and patterns are intermixed among fluffy white clouds.” Describing his inspiration, Hashimoto states, “I was (and I still am) interested in how I could manipulate the kites sculpturally… at the same time, I was curious as to how viewers brought their own associations and personal narratives and reflected them in the work.”
