“Consuming Spirits” in New York
Faculty member Chris Sullivan (FVNMA) made the cover of the New York Times arts section on December 11. Reviewer A. O. Scott calls Sullivan’s animated film Consuming Spirits “a defiant—or maybe, even better, an oblivious—exception to the rules and patterns of contemporary cartoon entertainment.” He goes on to give a detailed analysis of the film and speaks highly of its plots and emotions. The film opened in New York on December 12, a triumphant return after making its NYC debut at the Tribeca Film Festival last spring.
