The Chicago Tribune Features SAIC Programs

The Chicago Tribune has featured SAIC in various contexts this month, including Kanye West’s visit to SAIC to receive his honorary doctorate at this year’s Commencement Ceremony. The Tribune referred to Kanye as “the most important, influential cultural voice to emerge from Chicago in a generation.”

Additionally, the Tribune featured the new partnership announced between the Chicago Innovation Exchange, a University of Chicago-based startup and innovation hub has partnered with SAIC’s Earl and Brenda Shapiro Center for Research and Collaboration. The partnership of Chicago Innovation Exchange and SAIC will give students and faculty access to workshops and resources through the hub and also will kick off a Venture Studio class this fall.

The Tribune also highlighted the brass and crystal light installation design feature for Billy Reid’s new store in Chicago’s Fulton Market, which was made in a collaboration of graduate students at SAIC and Swarovski.
