Chicago Mag Lists “Three Reasons to See the New SAIC Student Fashion Show”

On Tuesday, April 29 Chicago magazine writer Lynn Okura Bey gave readers “Three Reasons to See the New SAIC Student Fashion Show,” which kicks off this Friday, May 2, at Millennium Park. “This isn’t your first average student fashion show,” says Okura Bey, noting past attendees including fashion industry insiders Jenna Lyons, Jason Wu, and Ikram Goldman. “Watching the progression is pretty amazing, and the avant-garde looks combine fashion with painting, sculpture, sound and technology.” Okura Bey also highlights a three-part performance by Nick Cave, SAIC faculty member and this year’s Legend of Fashion Award recipient, which he will debut during the annual benefit gala THE WALK. “Details of Cave’s performance are being kept under wraps, but judging by the way Cave has combined dance, sound, color and fashion in past presentations. It will certainly be memorable.”
