Caroline Picard (MFA 2010) recently shut the doors of the Logan Square bookstore, gallery, and performing arts space Sector 2337. However, this does not mark the end of her exploration with creative placemaking. Picard's experience with creating multidisciplinary art spaces stems from learning what the limitations are for art and figuring out how they can exisit in a space, she says in an article in the Chicago Reader, "The thing that needs to be remembered is that it's possible, and that artists will continue to hack their environment." Prior to being the founder and executive director of Sector 2337, Picard established the nonprofit Green Lantern Gallery and Press in Wicker Park.
