Art in the Lone Star State

DMagazine announced on December 10 that SAIC alumnus Christian Gerstheimer (BFA 1990) is among the curators selected for the 2013 Texas Biennial. The Biennale’s press release notes Gerstheimer, currently a curator at the El Paso Museum of Art, received a BFA from SAIC, a BA and an MA in Art History from Michigan State University, and is currently completing an MFA in Creative Practice at the Transart Institute in New York and Berlin. The 2013 Texas Biennial, the longest-running state visual arts biennial in the United States, takes place on September 5 through November 9 with a range of exhibitions and additional programming in Austin, Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, and Marfa.
