Architecture Professor Talks About Creativity at Education Symposium
SAIC faculty member Linda Keane will be part of a discussion on the ways in which schools "can and must foster the creativity and innovation essential to our students’ global competence in a changing world," according to an event listing posted on WBEZ.org. In Reimagining School: Why Creativity and Innovation Matter, Keane who is also an integral member of several architectural and design organizations, will talk about the importance of creativity and design in education. She is architect partner of STUDIO 1032 where she works with diverse stakeholders on ecological urban initiatives along the Milwaukee-Chicago corridor and is co-founder of the eLearning resource NEXT.cc with the mission to educate about "what design is, what design does, and why design is important." Her work is recognized by the American Institute of Architects, Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture, American Architectural Foundation, Graham Foundation, National Endowment of the Arts, National Environmental Education Foundation, United States Green Building Council, and Union of International Architects.
