HEED Award Recognizes School's Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion

For the fourth year in a row, SAIC received the 2017 Higher Education Excellence in Diversity (HEED) Award from INSIGHT into Diversity magazine, a national honor recognizing US colleges and universities that demonstrate an outstanding commitment to diversity and inclusion.

SAIC's Photo Department Sweeps Artadia Awards

Artadia, the national not-for-profit supporting visual artists with unrestricted, merit-based awards, announced that its Chicago winners are both faculty members of the School. Rashayla Marie Brown (BFA 2015), program mentor of SAIC's Photography department, joins Professor Claire Pentecost in accepting $10,000 awards from Artadia, and other ongoing benefits.

U.S. Pavilion Announces Exhibitors at the 2018 Venice Architecture Biennale

Roger Brown's Work to Be Brought to the Forefront

The works of the late Roger Brown, who received his BFA in 1968 and MFA in 1970 from SAIC, have garnered major interest from Chicago gallery owner Kavi Gupta. “Since Brown's passing, his career didn't continue like it should have," Gupta says.

SAIC Names Joint Faculty Fellows of the Institute for Curatorial Research and Practice

The School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) has named Daniel Eisenberg, Professor in the Film, Video, New Media, and Animation and Visual and Critical Studies departments, and Ellen Rothenberg, Adjunct Professor in Fiber and Material Studies, as the inaugural joint Faculty Research Fellows of the Institute for Curatorial Research and Practice.
