On February 28 the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) awarded the $25,000 2014 CFDA/Teen Vogue Scholarship to SAIC student Franky Tran (BFA 2016). SAIC students Noa Hu (BFA 2016) and Jamie Lange (BFA 2016) also received scholarships in the amount of $5,000 each. Tran beat out more than 30 applicants with a womenswear and accessory collection inspired by the jewelry designs of CFDA Member Pamela Love. Tran was also named the “Target Fashion Scholar” and will travel to the company’s headquarters in Minneapolis to meet with the Target design team. Tran will also receive an all-expense trip to attend the CFDA Awards and Teen Vogue’s Fashion U.
