Careers and Internships: Out-of-state Internships
Many students choose to take advantage of out-of-state internships over the summer semester. During a summer semester, students can register for Co-op exclusively, and can earn three to six credits depending on the employer's and student's needs.
Do some background research on employers that interest you. You can start by searching the Internet or asking for recommendations from your professors or industry professionals in your field. Meet with a Co-op staff member and bring a list of employers from your target city in order of priority.
Students are financially responsible for all expenses incurred, including lodging and transportation, since the majority of out-of-state internships are for credit only.
Remember, Co-op is a class, and tuition is charged. You must be enrolled in a degree program at SAIC to participate. All requirements apply for out-of-state Co-op internships as they do for a Co-op position in Chicago.
