Careers and Internships: Cooperative Education Internships
SAIC Co-op Internships
SAIC's Cooperative Education Internship program is the largest art-related internship program in the country, and is an opportunity to extend your education beyond the classroom by working in a variety of professional art and design-related environments, earning course credit while gaining valuable real-world experience.
The program encompasses a variety of disciplines unique to artists' interests, so you will find something that is rewarding and helps you explore the professional world. Our Co-op Program connects you to relevant internship opportunities with organizations and companies in Chicago, throughout the U.S., and internationally. Many graduating Co-op students go on to secure employment or professional opportunities as a result of their participation in the Co-op program.
This is a great way for you to:
- Gain valuable professional experience
- Test the job—could it be a career for you?
- Open networking opportunities and start building your "who you know" list
- Take your classroom knowledge into the professional world

Co-op is a class, and there are several requirements to fulfill in order to earn credit. Tuition is charged, and students receive studio or general elective credit based on hours completed.
With more than 500 Co-op internships available every semester, our program encompasses a variety of disciplines unique to artists' interests.
