Campus Life and Involvement: Civic Engagement
At SAIC, we believe in letting students’ voices be heard. We encourage students to register to vote and participate in initiatives related Constitution Day.
If you are eligible, you are encouraged to participate in the country’s political process by registering to vote. You are encouraged to vote with an absentee ballot from your home state, or to register to vote in Illinois.
In compliance with federal statutes, SAIC makes Illinois and absentee voter registration forms available through TurboVote (saic.turbovote.com) and distributes this information to students annually via email prior to Election Day. To obtain additional information regarding voter registration in Illinois, go to elections.il.gov and vote.org/state/illinois. To obtain additional information regarding absentee voting, go to https://www.usa.gov/absentee-voting.
Voter registration information is also available at SAIC's voter information page at saic.turbovote.com.
Ballot Ready - A nonpartisan guide to the history and positions of the candidates on the ballot.
Chicago Elections - A government sponsored service that allows you to enter your address and view a sample ballot, registration information, and key dates in the upcoming election.
Each year, the Office of Student Affairs implements Constitution Day initiatives to celebrate Constitution Day, an observance that recognizes the adoption of the United States Constitution. These initiatives include campus wide emails, book displays, and tabling to hand out pocket size constitutions.
