Food for Thought Café services provides School of the Art Institute of Chicago’s campus with great food and a wonderful environment to grow and learn! Enjoy a variety of delicious and nutritious menu items, served at some of the busiest social hubs on campus. All of our dining facilities serve fresh, often locally-sourced food prepared fresh daily.
The Campus Center Café is located on the second floor of the Neiman Center and features a wide array of options from specialty coffee drinks (including a local SAIC/Food For Thought Intelligentsia blend) to daily specials at the hot buffet. From rotating dishes like authentic Japanese Ramen and Sushi, to pizza, specialty sandwiches, specialty vegetarian and gluten free dishes and international specialties, there is sure to be something for every palette.
Monday-Thursday: 8:00 a.m.-10:00 p.m.
Friday: 8:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m.
Saturday: 8:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.
Sunday: 12:00-8:00 p.m.
In the MacLean Café, guests visit not just for the wide-variety of delicious food options, but also for the breath-taking views overlooking Millennium and Grant Parks. Come to the MacLean Café for a quick bite to eat, or kick back and relax for a while on one of the comfortable couches or chairs. MacLean Café offers unique gourmet sandwiches, salads, soups, specialty coffee drinks and breakfast dishes made from the freshest ingredients right in their kitchen every day!

Come check out the Columbus Café for rotating breakfast options, a wide-array of sandwiches & salads, and most notably Chef Designed Authentic Asian dishes such as Pad Thai, Fried Rice, and Lo Mein.
