Teacher Programs: TICA-DP
The Teacher Institute in Contemporary Art—Drawing and Painting (TICA-DP) is a two-week professional development program designed for high school teachers from the United States and around the world interested in learning how the influences of contemporary art, design, and culture impact and inspire the important work of teaching the next generation of creative professionals. Following the model of the highly successful TICA Painting and Drawing program, TICA-DP offers educators the unprecedented opportunity to research, define, and redesign their making and teaching practices and processes with a global network of peers in the studios of SAIC. TICA-DP is facilitated by leading artists, designers, and scholars and includes a broad range of painting and drawing practices, visiting artist presentations, conversations on current trends in art and design education, and collaborative curriculum planning and sharing.
