The Teacher Institute in Contemporary Art and Design (TICA-D) is a one-week professional development program designed for high school educators interested in exploring the transformative power of design thinking and engaging with notable scholars and practitioners working in the fields of architecture, fashion, graphic, and product design. Focusing on new methods and approaches for creative production, TICA-D examines a specific field of design each day and provides collaborative design challenges that investigate meaningful learning opportunities, strategies, and outcomes. Discussions on the latest innovations in design education and curriculum planning and sharing are included.
