Adult Continuing Education ARTIC Accounts
In order to access your SAIC benefits, you will need to active your ARTIC account.
This account will also provide you will access to your SAIC email, library databases, and more. Activate your account.
Connect to the SAIC wireless network anywhere on campus from your laptop, tablet, or smartphone.
Your ARTICard has been preloaded with ARTICPrint funds in the amount of $12 in fall and spring semesters, and $6 in summer. These funds can be used at the Service Bureau, SAIC’s professional digital-output center, or any number of print and copy stations on campus.
Use the SAIC General Access Computer Lab located in the MacLean Center, 112 South Michigan, room 901, for current versions of software for digital imaging and video, desktop publishing, 3D rendering, website authoring, animation, multimedia, graphic, and audio applications.
Canvas is a cloud-based Learning Management System (LMS), similar to Blackboard, Moodle, etc. It provides tools to help faculty manage curricular resources and communication with students.
Use your ARTICard as a purchasing card on campus and at local businesses.

Check out materials and use media screening rooms.
Watch and learn with your SAIC membership to Lynda.com. Lynda.com features over 3,967 online training courses. Video tutorials are available from your computer, tablet, or smartphone anytime.
Your ARTIC account gives you access to over 120 online research databases. These include scholarly journals, video archives, and everything in between.
Use the screening room to watch historic and contemporary works of Video Art.
Attend openings and see the work of cutting-edge contemporary artists, including SAIC faculty, students, and alumni.
Discounted parking is available at the Mid-Continental Plaza Building at 55 East Monroe Street after 4:00 p.m. on Monday through Friday or anytime Saturday and Sunday. Registered students may apply for a discount card at the garage office on level P-2.

How to Activate Your ARTIC Account
Please note that you will need your SAIC ID number (located on your ARTICard and included in your registration confirmation) in order to complete this process.
To activate your account, visit password.artic.edu and follow these steps:
- Select Activate Account
- On the Verification screen, enter the words displayed and select Verify
- Enter your 7-digit SAIC ID number
- Enter your Last Name
- Enter your Birthdate using the following format (DD-MMM, e.g. 22-FEB)
- Select Activate
Be sure to read all instructions and record your account information for future reference.
You must complete the entire process or your account will not be activated.

All current Adult Continuing Education students are invited to participate in Portfolio Review Day in fall and spring.
Fall 2017: Saturday, November 11 and Wednesday, November 15
Spring 2018: Saturday, March 10 and Saturday, May 12
Reviewers may include Continuing Studies instructors, certificate program alumni, and Admissions representatives, among others.
Reviews will be 30 minutes in length, and scheduled on a first come, first served basis. There will be an advance registration period for students completing a noncredit certificate that need to fulfill the portfolio requirement.
Fall 2017 advance registration for certificate students begins Monday, October 16; open registration starts Wednesday, October 25. Spring 2018 registration dates to be announced.
