Undergraduate Admissions: Test Scores
If you are an international applicant who is not a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, and/or you are not a native English speaker, you are required to take either the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or International English Language Testing System (IELTS).
Minimum scores required by SAIC:

Applicants who score below the minimum TOEFL or IELTS requirement may not be offered admission to SAIC.
If you are an international applicant, but English is your first language, please submit your SAT score instead of taking the TOEFL or IELTS.
If you are an international applicant, but you are attending an English speaking high school, such as an international high school with U.S. accreditation, or a high school in the U.S., Canada, or India, please submit your SAT score instead of taking the TOEFL or IELTS.
If you are an international student applying as a transfer student, and have a bachelor's degree from a U.S. college or university, you are not required to take the TOEFL or IELTS.
All international students with TOEFL scores below 96 (IBT or an IELTS score below 7.0 are required to take SAIC's English Placement Tests (EPT) to evaluate English reading and writing skills. This test is given during orientation at the beginning of the fall and spring semesters. Based on your test results, you may be placed in English for International Students (EIS) classes prior to placement in the academic track of the undergraduate degree curriculum.
