Special Events for Admitted Students
The hard work is over—for now. Not only have you completed your application paperwork, you have given us insight about who you are as a thinker and maker through the work you’ve shown us in your portfolio.
And, although we’ve said it before, congratulations on being admitted to the nation’s most influential art and design school. It is an accomplishment of which you should be very proud.
Now it’s time to dive in, learn more about us, and make sure ALL of your questions are answered.
To help you with this, we have provided you two opportunities to meet with us—at receptions in cities around the country and abroad, and here on campus at our preregistration day. The programming for these events is different, and attendance at both is encouraged.

Preregistration Day and ARTBASH

We invite you to join us on campus for the opportunity to preregister for classes, view the work of current first-year students, tour campus and our residence halls, get all of your questions answered, and more!
Highlights include:
- You can preregister for your first semester classes and ensure you get your ideal schedule. You can choose Research Studio and English course topics and your choice of studio elective.
- Every year, we exhibit the accomplishments of our freshmen in a show called ARTBASH. You will get to tour the exhibition with first-year program faculty.
- Chancellor Tony Jones begins the day with an introduction to the many ways SAIC influences the visual landscape. Jones is mesmerizing, and you will walk away inspired. We promise.
- Representatives from Admissions, Financial Aid, Career Services, Cooperative Education Internship Programs, and Student Affairs will be on-hand to answer all of your questions.
- You can tour campus and residence halls. Walking the campus, seeing the state-of-the-art facilities and incredible residence halls, checking out the work all around you, and reading the various notices up on the walls and bulletin boards is a great way to get a sense of what life at SAIC is like.
