The School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) has always been a contemporary art and design school, but for over 150 years our campus has been deeply rooted in the architectural history of Chicago. On November 3, join us for a historic walking tour of our downtown loop campus. Thomas C. Buechele, co-author of The School of the Art Institute of Chicago: The Campus History Series (Arcadia Publishing) and Vice President for Campus Operations, will be your guide for this special event. As an alumnus and member of the SAIC community for over 30 years, Buechele offers a fascinating glimpse into the story behind these structures and spaces where artists, designers, and scholars continue to make history.

5:30 p.m.—Guest check-in
6:00–7:30 p.m.—Historic Campus Walking Tour led by Tom Buechele

Note: the tour will involve walking outdoors and through several buildings, please dress for the weather forecast and wear comfortable shoes. Persons with disabilities requesting accommodations should visit saic.edu/access.
