About Our Art Education Graduate Programs

SAIC's Master of Arts in Teaching and Master of Arts in Art Education programs emphasize the cultivation of community based practices, action research, and critical citizenship though art education. Students learn to respond to the needs of contemporary learners through active and reflective interactions with art and visual culture. The Art Education Department has strong relationships with schools and community-based art organizations throughout Chicago. Our graduate programs foster meaningful learning and teaching in a culturally diverse and ever-changing society.
