The School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) offers you the option to earn both a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Visual and Critical Studiesconsecutively, using the majority of credits from the first program to complete the second. To earn both degrees, students complete the 132 credits required for the BA in Visual and Critical Studies degree, plus an additional 36 credits of studio electives. It usually takes students an extra year in residence at SAIC to complete both a BFA and a BA in Visual and Critical Studies (rather than just a BFA or BA in Visual and Critical Studies).
