Visual and Critical Studies: News and Events
Thursday, November 7, 4:30 p.m.
SAIC Ballroom, 112 S. Michigan Ave.
SAIC alumna Szu-Han Ho (MA 2009, MFA 2010), Assistant Professor of Art and Ecology in the Department of Art and Art History at the University of New Mexico, will discuss issues relating to a series of cross-border, transnational collaborative projects. Her current collaborative works explore the form of the duet. The performance series is based on Mozart's Mirror Duet. The first part comprised an international cross-border (US—Mexico) exchange workshop and an installation/performance based on the sonic properties of tonal language. The second Duet (October 2013) is a collaboration involving participants in the US (El Paso) and Iraq (Baghdad). Sponsored by Visual and Critical Studies and Film, Video, New Media, and Animation.
