Patrick Reynolds' work is typically in photography and video production, and he is currently exploring the ways in which these media can be approached that take into consideration their contemporary roles as democratized and dethroned image-making processes. He is interested in the contemporary state of photographic authorship, the physical existence of the digital image, the contentious definition of the contemporary art photographer, the insatiable legacy of art history on the contemporary image-making world, the intermingling of current and outdated technologies, and the displaced role of the narrative within the contemporary film and photograph.
