Anne Bush is a Professor and the Chair of the Design Program at the University of Hawai‘i. Her essays on graphic design history and criticism have been published in the journals: Émigré, Visible Language, Design Issues, The American Center for Design Journal,Tipographica, and the AIGA Journal, and included in the books Citizen Designer, Education of the E-Designer, and Regarding Romantic Rome. Her design work has been recognized by the AIGA, the New York Art Director’s Club, Eye, ID, and Typographers International Association (UK), among others. Anne has been the recipient of numerous awards and grants including a research grant from the Paul Mellon Centre for Studies in British Art (2005), the 2005 Bursary Prize from the Design History Society (UK) and the Isaiah Berlin Bursary at the University of Oxford (2007).
