Painting and Drawing Graduate Student Noontime Lecture: Jessica Campbell

Thursday, February 20, 12:15 p.m.
Columbus Drive Building, 280 S. Columbus Dr., room 317

Jessica Campbell is a Canadian-joke and painting enthusiast. She was raised on an island that, according to the since-abandoned Pentecostal church of her youth, also happens to be the witchcraft capital of North America. Her work employs a variety of visual and material strategies, primarily vernacular processes like latch hook weaving, joke writing, comic drawing, and representational painting in an attempt to make the world around her knowable.
