Elizabeth Moylan (b. 1985) is a second-year MFA candidate in the Painting and Drawing Department at SAIC. Her work focuses on painting as an erotic space created by gestural perversions. There is no mind without the body and consciousness is material. A painting must seduce, alienate, violate, or embrace the viewer. A good painting can do these things simultaneously. She graduated from The University of Chicago with a Bachelor's in Gender Studies in 2007. She has lived and worked in Chicago since, but originates from Godforsaken, Pennsylvania.
