Graduate Lecture Series: Dana Nechmad

Dana Nechmad is a second-year MFA candidate in the Painting and Drawing Department at SAIC. Her work focus on the power of the body and its sexuality, a subject that dominates both the personal and the social spheres. Her fascination is not with the beauty of the flesh but with the emotion it arouses. In her practice she moves between painting, drawing, textile manipulation, embroidery and video.

She earned her BFA in 2010 at the Libera Accademia di Belle Arti, Florence, Italy and MA in philosophy at Tel Aviv university, Tel Aviv, Israel in 2014.
