Visiting Artist: Nao Matsunaga

Wednesday, February 19, 3:00 p.m.
Columbus Building, 280 S. Columbus Dr., room 156

Nao Matsunaga is challenged by the unknown, by accidents from which to extract something beyond preconception. He believes marks made, lines created by sculpting and careful juxtaposition of recognizable objects, can have an impact on the subconscious. Inspired by Neolithic and modern architecture and its inhabitants, Matsunaga's practice ranges from installation-based work to sculptures made in clay.

Born in 1980 in Osaka, Japan, Matsunaga lives and works in London, UK.

2007 MA Royal College of Art, London
2002 BA University of Brighton
