An Artist talk presented as part of his Final Contract Review toward Tenure

Assistant Professor Jacob Tonski will share the concepts, creation, challenges and results of creative research around a theme of dynamic balance. This body of time-based work includes video and kinetic sculpture. Q&A to follow.

Jacob Tonski received an Ars Electronica 2014 Award of Distinction, was awarded a 2013 Sustainable Arts Foundation grant and was a 2010 fellow at the Carnegie Mellon University Studio for Creative Inquiry. He has spoken at the Haystack Mountain School of Craft and The School for Poetic Computation, and previously worked as a Technical Director at Pixar Animation Studios. Recent exhibitions include The 2015 Biennial of Numeric Arts in Paris, France, and the 2014 Triennial of New Media Art in Beijing, China.
