In this talk, Assistant Professor Christopher Baker will discuss his recent artistic and technological research and contextualize open source and open hardware development as social practices. He will introduce the new creative tools and research he has been developing with students in the openLab at SAIC and present a preview of upcoming projects. All faculty, students, and staff are welcome to attend. A brief Q&A will follow the talk.
Christopher Baker is an artist and engineer whose work engages the rich collection of social, technological, and ideological networks present in the urban landscape. Baker's award-winning work has been featured extensively online, in print, and internationally in festivals, galleries, and museums.
