Faculty Sabbatical Lecture: James Hugunin "Wreck and Ruin: My Body, My Fiction, My Criticism"

Wednesday, December 4, 12:15 p.m.
Sullivan Galleries Conference Room, 33 S. State St., 7th Floor

James Hugunin, Adjunct Professor, Art History, Theory, and Criticism, will put his writing, both fiction and criticism, into the context of his recent bout with cancer, a necessary surgery, and ensuing radiation treatments. He will read from his novel Elder Physics: The Wrong of Time (2013) and novel-in-progress Case X as well as Wreck and Ruin: Photography and Temporality (2013), a critical study of photography. Each work addresses themes of sudden and gradual ruination of the individual body and the social body.
