Margaret Koreman (BFA 1988, MA 2002) is helping to develop new programs to support Chicago Public Schools students, teachers, and families.
For the past eight years, Margaret Koreman (BFA 1988, MA 2002) has taught kindergarten through eighth grade visual arts at the elementary magnet school located in Chicago’s Old Town neighborhood. When she was 16 years old, a high school art teacher introduced her to the Continuing Studies at SAIC program where she took an Intergenerational Program figure drawing class. She went on to earn her Bachelor of Fine Arts and Master of Arts in Art Education at SAIC.
Today, Koreman is helping to bring arts programming to every Chicago Public Schools (CPS) classroom as part of a new partnership between SAIC's Continuing Studies and and CPS. Koreman is part of the Education Team that will guide the development of new programs to support CPS students, teachers, and families.
